Pediatric Orthopedics

The UW Health pediatric orthopedic program specializes in providing world-class care for children, adolescents and young adults with all types of musculoskeletal disorders. This includes diagnostic, nonoperative and surgical services for all of the following:
  • Orthopedic trauma, including surgical and non-surgical fracture management
  • Spinal deformities, including scoliosis, kyphosis and spondylolisthesis
  • Neuromuscular disorders, including cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and spinal muscular atrophy
  • Hip disorders, including hip dysplasia, Perthes Disease and slipped capital femoral epiphysis
  • Limb disorders, including lower extremity length discrepancy and deformities, upper extremity deformities and oncological reconstruction
  • Foot and ankle disorders, including clubfoot, congenital foot deformities and ankle disorders
Patients may see a pediatric nurse practitioner, non-operative pediatric orthopedist, and/or pediatric surgeon. Pediatric orthotists, physical and occupational therapists, and cast technicians may also be asked to consult on your child's care.

Our staff is based in the American Family Children’s Hospital, a new, state-of-the-art children’s medical and surgical center connected to University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Located in Madison, the American Family Children’s Hospital offers the friendliness of a small pediatric hospital backed by the sophisticated services and diagnostic and therapeutic resources of a major academic medical center
