Primary Care Sports Medicine
Our primary care sports medicine physicians are leaders in the field of sports medicine. They have extensive hands-on experience across the spectrum of medical conditions affecting the active population. They are clinicians first, but they are also very involved in research and education.
Every one of our primary care sports medicine physicians are fellowship-trained in sports medicine and have additional specialty training in pediatric and adolescent medicine or family practice. In addition to the non-surgical management of activity-related musculoskeletal conditions, they are specialists in the care of medical conditions that affect athletic participation and performance – from head injuries to eating disorders to exercise-induced asthma.
From their fellowship training and years of clinical experience, our primary care sports medicine physicians acquire the skills to care for athletes of all ages and levels of competition. Our providers have all served as team physicians for the UW Badger athletic teams. They have extensive experience caring for collegiate and high school athletes, and broad knowledge of most sports, from team to extreme. As athletes themselves, our providers have firsthand experience in how injuries and illnesses affect participation in athletic activities.
Whether you have an injury or simply want to maximize your athletic performance, our Sports Medicine physicians can help.
