Orthopedic Surgery Residency

We are pleased that you have taken the time to research our orthopedic residency training program. We feel that it is among the best in the nation.
The mission of our orthopedic residency training program is quite simple: produce excellent orthopedic surgeons. To achieve this goal, we provide a balanced training environment that blends didactics, research, graduated responsibility, outpatient and non-operative clinical care, postoperative care, and surgical training. With this approach, we consistently graduate orthopedic surgeons that have outstanding clinical and surgical skills.
While the strengths of our program should become evident to you while browsing our website, some deserve special mention. Our program allows trainees to work in an environment of camaraderie and teamwork among residents as well as with faculty that are dedicated to their training. The structure of our training program is well rounded allowing each resident exposure to all orthopedic subspecialties both as a junior resident and as a senior resident all right here in Madison. Our curriculum that promotes resident self-study, daily conferences, and didactic lecture series allows our program to prepare residents for American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) certification. Lastly, the orthopedic training experience at our program allows our trainees to easily transition from residency to general orthopedic practice or to obtain a competitive fellowship in any orthopedic subspecialty.
We sincerely thank you for your interest in our orthopedic residency training program. We hope our website provides you with a thorough overview of our program and helps you with the sometimes stressful application process. If you have questions regarding our program, please contact us.
