Orthotics and Prosthetics Course at NUPOC in Chicago, IL
Residents are allotted 5 days conference time for the Orthotics and Prosthetics Course offered at Northwestern University Prosthetics – Orthotics Center, Chicago, IL. We recommend that you attend this course in your PGY 3 year, because your fourth year gets busy with interviews and board review.
Notify the coordinator at least 4 weeks in advance to arrange changes in your schedule. You must arrange resident coverage for the ward rotation.
The department offers each resident up to $2,000 for the course to cover the course tuition and room/board in Chicago. If you arrange less expensive housing, you may use the money for meeting fees, books, and other items related to your training. Contact us for further details:
You are encouraged to attend the Sports Medicine Conferences and Back/Neck Pain Conferences and the Pain Board Review Course sponsored by the UW Hospital. Please check with the primary attending on your rotation about these arrangements.
For the resident’s first presentation of an accepted paper or poster at a major conference, the department will cover the resident’s travel, registration fees, and room/board for the conference, up to $2,000.
