Joseph Mitchell, MD

Dr. Mitchell is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult reconstruction of the hip and knee. He has expertise in both primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. Mitchell is an expert in the anterior approach for hip replacement and utilizes this technique almost exclusively. He has training in all modern surgical techniques including navigation, robotics, and patient specific (custom) instrumentation.

Dr. Mitchell is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and obtained a bachelor of science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin - Parkside. He then went on to complete medical school and residency at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Mitchell completed a fellowship in joint replacement at the University of California San Diego. As a former graduate of the UW medical school and residency program, he is quite passionate about training our current fellows, residents and medical students.
