Medical Student Researcher
Sakar grew up playing sports, which fueled his curiosity about the factors that allow athletes to improve their performance. He is currently a second-year medical student at UW-Madison and believes that a deeper understanding of performance, from genetic contributions to the social determinants of health, can improve both individual and societal outcomes. Sakar is also interested in the technologies that monitor performance data and their potential to optimize individual health and performance.
Sakar continues to compete in various intramural sports, alongside a daily yoga and meditation practice.
