
Dr. Shih earned her medical degree from Yale University in New Haven, CT. She completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN, and her pediatric orthopedic fellowship at Alfred I. duPont/Nemours Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. She is board certified in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Shih's clinical practice encompasses the general aspects of pediatric orthopaedics, with a focus on neuromuscular disorders like cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and spina bifida. Her research interests include gait abnormalities, cerebral palsy, pediatric orthopaedic trauma, and healthcare quality improvement.
Dr. Shih was named to the Texas Top Doctors Rising Stars List in 2024. She serves on committees of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine. She serves as a consultant reviewer for the Journal of Pediatric Orthopedics. She has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and presented at various orthopaedic conferences.
Dr. Shih hopes to provide the very best care for children and contribute to the field of Pediatric Orthopedics through education and research. For her, orthopaedics is the best way to combine her wish to help others with her love for biomechanics and engineering.
