Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to research our Orthopedic Residency Training Program. We believe it is among the best in the nation.

The mission of our program is quite simple: produce excellent orthopedic surgeons who will provide remarkable healthcare to patients in Wisconsin and the greater US. To achieve this, we provide a balanced training environment that blends surgical training, didactics, research, graduated responsibility, outpatient and non-operative clinical care, and postoperative care. With this approach, we consistently graduate orthopedic surgeons who have outstanding clinical and surgical skills, and are prepared to become future leaders in orthopedic surgery without compromise through service, scholarship, science, and social responsibility.

While the strengths of our program should become evident to you while browsing our website, some deserve special mention:

  • Our program allows residents to work together in an environment of camaraderie and teamwork among faculty who are dedicated to their training
  • The structure of our training program is well rounded, allowing each resident exposure to all orthopedic subspecialties both as a junior and senior resident all right here in Madison
  • Our curriculum, which promotes resident self-study, daily conferences, and didactic lecture series, allows our residents to have all the tools necessary to become a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon
  • Lastly, our orthopedic training experience allows our trainees to easily transition from residency to general orthopedic practice or to obtain a competitive fellowship in any orthopedic subspecialty

Thank you for your interest in our orthopedic residency training program. If you have questions about our program, please contact us.
