We want to extend a warm “Badger welcome” and thank you for considering the University of Wisconsin Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation PM&R Residency Program!
Our specialty is dynamic and growing, presenting many rewarding career paths. We are confident that UW-Madison’s multi-disciplinary training and clinical approach will provide you with a strong foundation and confidence to thrive.
Our setting within a world renown, highly ranked academic medical institution provides numerous collaborative research opportunities. The experienced faculty have a strong commitment to clinical and didactic teaching while embracing the latest technological innovations. Our alumni currently practice across the country in a variety of academic, private and government settings with a significant number of graduates successfully pursuing advance fellowship training in sub-specialties such as pain, sports medicine, pediatrics and cancer.
UW-Madison PM&R offers significant clinical exposure to a diverse range of inpatient and outpatient treatment settings unique to a program of our size. During your inpatient rotations you will manage patients with a variety of disabilities as well as lead a skilled multidisciplinary team. Our outpatient clinics provide numerous opportunities to work with a range of diagnoses, from acute musculoskeletal injuries to chronic pain, including interventions, sports medicine as well as occupational injuries. We also offer a thorough and diverse training in EMG.
Madison is the capital of Wisconsin and consistently included among the most livable and “best places” to live in the U.S. with the recreational and cultural amenities of a large city in a more comfortable and affordable setting. We have hundreds of miles of local running and bike paths, many lakes, parks, hiking trails and ski areas all within 30 minutes from town.
