Bryan Heiderscheit Receives 2021 Career Excellence Award

Congratulations to Bryan Heiderscheit, PT, PhD, FATPA, who received the 2021 Career Excellence Award in Biomechanics Research from the Academy of Physical Therapy Research! This award recognizes career contributions to the field of biomechanics as evidenced by a substantial record of peer-reviewed publications, establishing an extramural funded research program, mentoring early career professionals in biomechanics, and being internationally recognized as an expert in biomechanics.

Dr. Heiderscheit is Director of Research for UW Badger Athletic Performance, Professor in the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, and Biomedical Engineering, and Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at UW-Madison. In addition, Dr. Heiderscheit’s laboratory focuses on biomechanics and neuromuscular coordination of human movement, with applications to orthopedics, rehabilitation, sports medicine, and sports performance.
