A man and a woman wearing winter coats and Wisconsin labeled hats standing on the Wisconsin Badgers football field. In conjunction with our faculty, you will provide medical care for UW-Madison Division I varsity athletes via event coverage, pre-participation physicals, and training room visits. Training room clinics are held 1-4 evenings per week, depending on the season. You will assist in sideline coverage for football and travel as part of the medical staff to all regular and post-season football games. You will be the primary orthopedic consultant for wrestling and crew and are welcome to participate in sideline coverage of additional sport(s) as interest and time allow.

As part of the NCAA Big Ten Conference, the University of Wisconsin fields competitive teams in more than 20 Division I sports. Badger football, basketball, ice hockey, wrestling, volleyball, and track and field are all highly successful, nationally recognized programs. The UW Athletic Department provides a team of 20 certified athletic trainers, a physical therapist, a dietitian, chiropractic and acupuncture services, psychiatric and counseling services, and state-of-the-art athletic training facilities for its athletes and medical staff.

Front of Camp Randall Stadium – a building with arches and "Home of the Wisconsin Badgers" signage. The Dave McClain Athletic Facility adjacent to the football stadium was extensively renovated in 2013 to create a modern state-of-the-art facility. The 76,000-square-foot main floor includes a 90-yard turf field for practice during inclement weather. On the lower floor, the expansive, modern Mueller Sports Medicine Center serves as the primary athletic training facility for all athletes. The center features a private clinical area for physicians and one of the nation’s most extensive athletic performance laboratories. A battery of tests, performed multiple times each year for most teams, provides information on body composition, agility, strength, and coordination. This data assists coaches with training, physicians with return to sport decisions, and our Badger Athletic Performance research group with a plethora of data to evaluate athletic injury and performance.

Satellite state-of-the-art athletic training facilities, remodeled or built in 2013, are located at each venue, including Camp Randall, the Kohl Center, the LaBahn Arena, and the Goodman Softball Complex.
